The Orchards are located in between the Roland Park and Poplar Hill neighborhood as well as the Bellona–Gittings neighborhood. The boundaries are marked by the Baltimore County line to the north, and Maryland Route 133, the Northern Parkway to the south, Maryland Route 139 (Charles Street) to the East and Roland Avenue, West Lake Avenue, Kenmore Road and Melrose Avenue to the west.

Where should I eat?

The Orchards are home to many of Baltimore’s great restaurants, including a tremendous Mediterranean restaurant called the Orchard Market and Café. Here you can have heaping portions of authentic Persian cuisine in a small hideaway decorated by located artists. The café will often have live jazz music that the locals have come to love and embrace. You can find attentive customer service here as well as a great mezl in a comfy environment that will keep you coming back again and again. The café is open six days a week, closed on Mondays and has the hours of 11:30am through 9pm each day.

If you are not in the mood for Mediterranean but are feeling adventurous, we recommend you try out Nailah’s Kitchen, which is an authentic Senegalese restaurant that is known throughout the city as one of the finest places to get West African cuisine. This restaurant features both a place to sit down and enjoy your meal in a relaxed and stylish dining room while also offering a place for takeout. The locals love a dish called the Dibi Lamb and rice, and can not stop talking about how great the customer service is at this Baltimore institution. Be sure to try out their drinks as they are also a fan favorite. Nailah’s is open six days a week, closed on Mondays. They restaurant opens for late lunch each weekday at 2:30pm and remains open until midnight. On Saturday, the restaurant is open for 12 hours a day from noon until midnight. On Sunday, the restaurant is open from noon until 11pm.

The Orcahrds is home to so much great and authentic cuisine that if you are not in the mood for Senegalese or Mediterranean food, you can still get adventurous in your own way and try out British cuisine in the Corner Pantry, which serves locally sourced food in a relaxed atmosphere. Here you can get a great coffee and morning pastries with specialty donuts on Saturday. There are numerous sandwich and meal options here and the locals love the staff. Open six days a week, the restaurant is closed on Sunday. Monday through Friday the restaurant is open from 7am through 5pm and on Saturday they are open from 8am through 3pm.

Are there parks nearby? 

The Orchard Hills Park is a great place to get some exercise in! Here you will find local residents getting some shots up at the local basketball court as well as some ball fields to have a catch and enjoy a lazy summer afternoon. If you are an avid Pokemon Go player you will be able to find a gym here to train and advance your level in the popular virtual reality game.

What is there to do?

The Elkridge Hunt Club offers a par 71 golf course, tennis courts, as well as a swimming pool.  There is a pro shop available to both the tennis club and the golf club. The tennis area overlooks the golf course and presents a tremendous view. There is a children’s pool as well as a place for adults to get their laps in.

What places should I visit?

The Towson Town Center is just a short drive away from The Orchards and provides a great afternoon of shopping and some great places to sit down and have a nice meal. The Towson Town Center is a popular place for residents from across the city as well as the greater metropolitan area to enjoy a nice afternoon or evening of shopping.
