This new neighborhood is located in the southeast portion of the City of Baltimore and as the name states, is right on the Baltimore Harbor.

Where should I eat?

There is no shortage of incredible food in the Harbor East area. Baltimore, and Maryland as a whole, is one of the best spots in the country for seafood, and this community is no exception. The restaurant in the Four Seasons, The Loch, is an upscale spot that serves seafood and pairs that food with rare whiskeys, beer, and wine. The Loch features one of the largest raw bars in Maryland and as an added bonus features live music every day of the week.

Ouzo Bay is an upscale Greek restaurant that serves small batch spirits and features an interesting variety of cocktails. Ouzo Bat prides itself on being an authentic Greek and Mediterranean restaurant where they promise by the end of it you’ll be “writing postcards back home to your loved ones.”

If you are seeking something a little more familiar to your palette, or maybe you are just a fan of New American Cuisine, the Charleston is for you. The Charleston features several New American plates with a fantastic wine list to pair with each meal. Open for dinner on weekdays, be sure to book a reservation and enjoy some of the best food that Baltimore has to offer.

Are there parks nearby?

Harbor East has one of the most interesting and unique parks in all of Baltimore in Pierce’s Park. Pierce’s Park is billed as the “Park for the imagination” because of all of the unique features. These features are: original sculptures, a musical fence, a living willow tunnel, native plants, and the famous horn sculpture.

 What is there to do?

Beyond the great food that seems to be on every corner throughout Harbor East, there are several places to shop till your drop throughout the community. Stores like Curiosity which features so many unique interior designs options, as does Arhaus which has been a mainstay of the neighborhood for over 25 years. Beyond the high end stores that many have not heard of before, Harbor East also features several names familiar to the causal consumer like J. Crew, Under Armour Brand House, and Anthropologie.

What places should I visit?

Harbor East is home to a monument that holds a very special connection to those in the community. The National Katyń Memorial, is a monument to the victims of the Katyn Massacre of the Polish people by the Soviets in 1940. The statue is a remarkable 44 feet high and the base is 56 feet wide. It is made of bronze and granite and located on Aliceanna Street in the community. It was finished in the year 2000. The statue was made by sculptor Andrzej Pitynski, and was delivered from Poland and delivered through the Baltimore Harbor to the community. Any and every visitor should take the time to soak in this historical and solemn monument to the people of this community.

The Civil War Musuem at President Street Station is home to some of the city’s history as it pertains to the Civil War. This is the oldest surviving rail station in an urban setting and was the home of President Abraham Lincoln’s train stop in Baltimore. Construction of the rail station started in 1849. In 1861, Union soldiers were traveling through the rail station on their way to certain danger during the beginning stages of the Civil War. The museum itself showcases the ties to the Underground Railroad and the Civil War. The museum is free of charge. The museum is open from Friday through Monday from 10:00am and 4:00pm.
