Homes For Sale And Lease

The Guilford neighborhood has its roots in the very beginnings of our nation’s history. After the Independence War at the Battle of Guilford Court House in North Carolina, the land was sold to the Guilford Park Company with the idea of this eventually becoming a sophisticated neighborhood on the edge of Baltimore at the turn of the 20thcentury. The group consolidated with the Roland Park Company and purchased over 200 acres that would become Guilford.

Where should I eat?

Life is hectic, and you need a nice place to sit down and enjoy a nice meal as you contemplate the remainder of your day and maybe even your busy week. Lunch should be a refuge from the day, and you can have that and delicious Indian and Nepalese meals at the Namaste Baltimore restaurant. The casual lunch buffet here has become a staple of the Baltimore community and will provide you feeling full and enlightened for the whole day. The restaurant is open seven days a week and closes for an hour in between the lunch and dinner options. The only day the lunch buffet us unavailable is on Monday’s when the restaurant opens at 4pm for the dinner option. Locals have called it the best Indian food in the city and have raved about the staff and the chicken, salmon, shrimp, lamb, and beef kabobs served on the sizzle platter. So if you are looking for a cheap lunch or a beautiful traditional Indian dinner this is the place for you!

If you are seeking a more upscale and refined Indian dining experience we recommend the Ambassador Dining Room, which is as swanky as the name suggests. The restaurant has several amenities like outdoor seating and several fireplaces located around the dining area to make the experience feel as rich as the flavors in the cuisine. If you sit outdoors, you may also have an excellent view of their seasonal garden. Here, Baltimore residents love the hospitality and the great quality prepared in each and every dish. Ambassador Dining Room has an excellent mix of traditional and modern Indian cuisine and has a lunch option available as well which reviewers have been impressed with as it delivers all of the flavor that individual dishes contain despite it being mass produced for a lunch rush.

 Are there parks nearby?

There are numerous outdoor parks built into the Guilford neighborhood and the community has cared for these parks since its creation during the turn of the century. Little Park, Sanford Green, and Sunken Park showcase the best of this historic neighborhood and provide a natural oasis to city living. The later created Guilford Gateways park also serves as a reminder to the commitment to public places both in the planning of the community in the past and as the community began to take shape over twenty years later.

 What is there to do?

Guilford has close access to some of Baltimore’s greatest universities and while these universities should be celebrated for their academic achievements they also have some incredible division one sports programs. If you have the opportunity to attend a Johns Hopkins Lacrosse match or a Loyola Marymount basketball game you should definitely do so!

 What places should I visit?

Guilford is right near one of the best museums of art anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard. The Baltimore Museum of Art has numerous rotating exhibits that will provide for a unique learning experience each and every time you visit.  This is a great place to spend an afternoon and experience many of the wonderful masterpieces done by some of the art community’s greatest minds. Admission is free but we strongly encourage making a donation to keep the museum alive and thriving for generations to come.
