Where should I eat?
Maryland and Baltimore are famous for their seafood and one of the best seafood places in all of Canton is Lee’s Pint and Shell. This is the neighborhood oyster and bourbon bar. Lee’s is named after the founder’s father who loved fishing and spending time in the great outdoors. While they are billed as an oyster and bourbon bar their most famous dish is the duck nachos!
The Bo Brooks Restaurant is a mom and pop restaurant which has been a staple of the Canton waterfront community since 1964. The establishment features an outdoor tiki bar and focuses on seafood and crab. Head over on a beautiful day and sit out by the water and enjoy some of Maryland’s favorite delicacy, the steamed crabs! These steamed crabs are the reason this restaurant has been able to stay in business for over 55 years.
If seafood isn’t your thing, we suggest you head over to Smaltimore, a home for the burger lover among us. Not only do you have the chance at a great burger but Smaltimore is aptly named as you can get tasty craft beers here too. If you feel guilty about traveling to a great seafood town and bringing your friends to a burger place Smaltimore has sushi too so it can appeal to any and everyone in your friend group.
Are there parks nearby?
The Historic Canton neighborhood features several amazing parks for humans and your furry companions alike! The most famous of the Canton Parks is O’Donnell Square. O’Donnell Square is home to a lot of the vibrant nightlife and restaurants of the community. Canton has a historic waterfront park as well which offers over eight acres of viewpoints of the harbor. The park is located at the Easternmost access point of the harbor where you will also find a fishing tier and a place to launch your boat from. The views on the harbor allow for a great views of the Blue Angels Air Show or to view the Tall Ships as the enter the marina. There is a part of the park that is a monument to the soldier from Maryland who served in the Korean War. The waterfront park offers free parking as well!
Finally, don’t forget to bring your furry friend to the Canton Dog Park, the first off-leash dog park in all of Baltimore, which has served the community since 2002. Give your dog the sweet taste of freedom as it heads out and tastes the harbor air.

What places should I visit?
The Enoch Pratt Free Library is the oldest and first library in Baltimore City and it is located directly in the center of O’Donnell Square. It’s so nice to see a community built around a library and an historic library at that!
For nearly thirty years, the Maryland Korean War Memorial has stood as a consistent reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of those who served our nation during the height of the Cold War. It ties Maryland, and the community of Canton, to a major portion of America’s history and no trip to Canton is truly complete unless you head down to the waterfront park and pay your respect at the memorial.
St. Casimir (Roman Catholic) Church was built in 1926 and serves as a major community landmark, and still continues to serve as an active church in the community. Other landmark churches include St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church which helps to continue to connect the community with its Ukrainian roots.
There are also two marinas and for those who love the beautiful game, the Du Burns Soccer Arena is a great place to catch a game and enjoy the atmosphere of incredible soccer matches.
