Where should I eat?
South Baltimore may be a small neighborhood but it has plenty to eat and share with the culinary world. One of those great places to eat is one of the best places to get a pizza in the whole city, a place called Hersh’s which will serve you up some hot Neapolitan pies and some small plates and features a full bar in a beautiful bi-level dining room. Here the locals seem to love the atmosphere and the the friendly service staff. They love the pizzas and the excellent assortment of wines, beers, and craft cocktails. Hersh’s is open six days a week, closed on Tuesday and only stays open for dinner and late night. The restaurant opens at 5pm each day from Monday through Saturday and at 4pm on Sunday. On Sunday and Monday the restaurant closes at 9pm, on Wednesday and Thursday it stays open until 10pm, ad on Friday and Saturday you can enjoy the wait staff’s company or a delicious pizza until 11pm and end your weekend on a high note.
When you come to Baltimore and Maryland, you do not think about pizza, you think about sitting down with some fresh seafood that is known the world over, and here in South Baltimore there is no better place to enjoy the local fare at Minnow, a rustic and modern place that will pair your specific seafood dish with a great bottle of wine, a cocktail, or a beer from one of their great selections. The locals always feel they are getting a great deal at this place when they receive this incredible fresh fare for a budget friendly price. A favorite for happy hour appetizers and a couple of beers, also features great service and drink. The ambiance at this establishment is a favorite of locals. Minnow is open six days a week closed on Mondays, and is open solely for dinner during the weekdays from 5pm until 10pm, except on Friday and Saturday where they stay open for an extra hour until 11pm. On Sunday, the restaurant opens for brunch from 11am through 2pm, and then closes until the dinner rush at 5pm and stays open again until 9pm.

This place offers diverse Japanese cuisine and affords you the opportunity to eat outside as well. This is an excellent place for happy hour as well as a meal. Matsuri is known by the locals as a great place to get fresh sushi and enjoy polite service from the wait staff. The prices are friendly and the staff moves quickly and efficiently. The restaurant is open and serving fresh sushi seven days a week, on weekdays it opens for lunch at 11:30am and stays open until 2:30pm. The restaurant than closes until 4:30pm and stays open until 9:30pm, on Friday the restaurant stays open an additional hour until 10:30pm. On weekends, the restaurant opens at 12pm on Saturday and remains open throughout the day until 10:30pm and on Sunday the restaurant opens at 4pm and remains open until 9:30pm.
